If you want to buy a teapot, this is the perfect city. Tokoname is the oldest and most important of Japan's six ancient pottery centers. In the archipelago, the city is synonymous with cha-ki – or tea utensils – and its production is the result of a long tradition of craftsmanship. Even today, despite increasing mechanization, teapots combining multiple parts are assembled by hand.
There is also a lovely guesthouse called "Yomogi" in the very charming old town. A Swiss-Japanese couple will give you a warm welcome there.
2. Naturalitea
Tea producer, Fujieda, Shizuoka Prefecture (by appointment)
Producers who speak fluent English and Chinese, they offer a "tea tour" and internships. They also manage a magnificent guesthouse "Tsubaki-tei". Their organic fields are located on hills amidst beautiful nature.

Florent, the owner, is the first non-Japanese certified Japanese tea sommelier. He offers a wide range of teas and accessories.
Moreover, the Yanaka district where it is located is very pleasant: it is a good place for a stroll.
